Flips for Excel Physical Therapy

A great, big Thank You goes out to Desirae Urban at Excel Physical Therapy in Ardmore, PA. After suffering a Class 1 growth plate ankle fracture and sprain in my right ankle, not only was Desirae able to help me rehab my ankle in 5 weeks, she was able to improve my over all strength and balance in both my ankles and my core in time for my 2015 Pennsylvania Level 6 State gymnastics meet!

From the very first visit, Desirae was very aware of my timeline in preparing for my State meet and she was able to customize my rehab specifically to my needs as gymnast, as she is a former University of Pennsylvania gymnast herself.  Desirae made my therapy sessions challenging and focused, but also fun and even humorous! My sessions would go by quickly and before I knew it, I was cleared to resume full training in gymnastics again. With Desirae’s help, not only was I able to compete in my State meet, but I had a very successful day by finishing in 3rd place on the vault, 5th place on the uneven bars, and 7th place All-Around!  All of this, when a few short weeks earlier, I couldn’t even run down the vault runway or tumble on floor without pain in my ankle.

Without her professional help and guidance, I would not have been able to bring home 3 medals from my State gymnastics meet! I also know I will continue to improve my ankle and core strength with the on going, at home exercises she has recommended for me.  If I am ever in need of a physical therapist again, I know I will call Desirae. Thank you again, Desirae! –Gabriella A.
