Patient Success Story – Washington Square

“I have been a patient at Excel since 2018, in and out with various injuries that were always resolved under the great care of Brad Richie, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert MDT. My latest stint began a few weeks before I ran the New Orleans Marathon in February 2020. I came in with quad pain, was unable to run, and feared that I would not be able to run after training so hard. As he usually does, Brad fixed me up the best he could and got me mentally and physically prepared to not only run the marathon but also get a Boston Qualifying, or “BQ” time.

However, I developed a compensation injury on my right side that took a few months to recover from. He fixed me up again, mostly virtually due to the pandemic, and I was back to running. Again, out of excitement and passion, I trained hard and came back with double ankle tendonitis in December 2020. In a matter of 6ish weeks, Brad put me back together again and I was able to slowly get back into running.

Since then, I have developed very minor pains, but I only need to go back for a few sessions. Because of the exercises and tools Brad gave me and a more suitable training program for me, I am back to running normally and feel better than ever. So much so, that at the Philly 10K on Sunday, August 29, 2021, I had a PR, won my age group, and finished top 15 for females! I immediately texted Brad and said this took a

village, which he has been an integral part of. Excel has been my safety net since I moved to Philadelphia 3.5 years ago. The care and professionalism of its staff are second to none. I cannot highly recommend it enough and always refer friends and colleagues. Next up is the Philadelphia Distance Run, and hopefully a Boston Marathon in my near future because of Brad and Excel.”
